Israeli start up MoMinis has secured $6 million in its latest funding round, which it will use to scale its developer tools and expand its PlayScape offering.
Currently, the Tel Aviv-based company offers simplified end-to-end solutions for mobile game studios, including development, marketing and distribution tools.
Following on from this latest round of funding, however, MoMinis plans to develop these tools further, and to "find new ways to increase user retention, distribution and discoverability of mobile games."
Going wider
MoMinis also operates Android 'mega-game' PlayScape, a single app that contains dozens of games from a host of developers.
Since experience points and in-game currency earned in one PlayScape game can be used in any other, it effectively acts as a cross-promotion and discovery tool, encouraging players to explore the app's catalogue of titles.
MoMinis plans to expand PlayScape which currently attracts more than 1 million daily active users and is downloaded more than 100,000 times a day onto new platforms, such as the iPhone, Windows Phone and Facebook.

"With its unique technology for developers and massive cross-marketing activity, MoMinis has dramatically scaled in the past 10 months," said Eran Barkat, partner at returning investor BRM Group.
"We believe this revolutionary business model, which is based on independent developers receiving end-to-end solutions, is extremely appealing and has a lot of potential going forward.
"This round will enable the company to grow and to expand its game developer community and its cross-platform offerings."
