Mix it up with Pocket Gamer today in Sweden or San Francisco

Double the hemispheres, double the fun

Mix it up with Pocket Gamer today in Sweden or San Francisco
It's been about a month since our last Mobile Mixer, so we decided it was high time to throw another.

But then we found ourselves thinking, why throw one when we can throw two on the same day?

So it is that on 21 May - that's today - we're hosting Mobile Mixers in Malmö, Sweden and San Francisco, California.

We don't recommend bending the laws of time and space to attend both mixers in the same night, but we do recommend going to one or the other if you're up for a night of drink and debate with the industry's finest.

A need for Swede

The Malmö mixer is sponsored by Papaya, King, and others will follow on the heels of the Unite Conference.

After a pause for some light snacks, beer, and networking, there will be a few presentations from the sponsors followed by a round-table panel discussion on what opportunities lay beyond the US App Store.

Once the different platforms, new markets, and relevant methods of acquisition and promotion are discussed, it's back to networking and beer.

San Franciscan nights

Meanwhile, the San Francisco mixer opens with a brief hello from Steel Media and words of welcome from the sponsors GREE and Immersion before turning to a studio panel discussion.

Featuring GREE's Mike Lu, Storm8's Quincy Yang, Nate Jones from Warner Bros. Games, Kixeye's Caryl Shaw, and Bob Huebel from Immersion, the hour-long panel will debate hot industry topics like:

  • When do you know the time is right to partner with a publisher?

  • What international trends are worth watching?

  • Is the pricing on in-app purchases way out of whack with other platforms?

  • Will there ever be a viable third platform for mobile?

Following the panel, they'll plenty of time to enjoy networking, gourmet treats, drinks from the bar, and the pumping sounds of electro dance DJ R3Y GUTI3RR3Z.
