Unity and Unreal Engine quick to pledge support for Google Daydream VR platform

Following Google's announcement of Daydream, its mobile VR platform, game developers were quick to announce their support.

Tools developers haven't been far behind either.

Unity CEO John Riccitiello was on stage at Google I/O 2016 talking about the company's support for VR and Google.

After all, the Google VR SDK for Unity previously supported Cardboard and now it supports Daydream.

On track

Unreal Engine isn't letting its arch rival gain an advantage, however.

It's announced the Daydream plugin for Unreal Engine 4, which is now available.

Full support for Daydream will be including in Unreal Engine 4.12, which should be released on 1 June.
