MAG Interactive revenues rose to record $29.5 million in 2016

Revenues for Ruzzle publisher MAG Interactive grew by 70% in 2016 to a record $29.5 million (SEK 264 million) in 2016.

Swedish tech and business website Digital reports that operating profits increased to $5.8 million (SEK 52 million) for the year.

The company’s portfolio of games, which includes Wordbrain and the newly released SmackChat, have attracted more than 100 million players to date. Around 55,000 new users download and play its titles every day.

Recently the company announced that games in its Ruzzle series have been downloaded more than 70 million times.

Old and new

MAG Interactice CEO Daniel Hasselberg put the growth down to the continued strong performance of its existing games and new titles such as Wordbrain 2 and Wordalot.

The publisher is currently at work on developing new titles, with more news on those expected later this year.
