Bandai Namco Europe has entered into a global partnership with m-commerce platform Docomo Digital to push into emerging mobile markets.
The deal sees Bandai Namco developing HTML5 games for Docomo, which will be pushed out directly to its partner network of mobile operators.
The developer also plans to develop stronger relationships with these operators, particularly in Africa, India, and the LATAM region.
Docomo will in turn help Bandai Namco access alternative app stores and employ alternative payment methods, such as direct carrier billing. It will also heavily market the games created through the partnership.
Reaching out
"As part of our ongoing strategy to provide more fun for everyone, we believe this important partnership with DOCOMO Digital and their network will allow us to reach emerging markets more easily where we see a continued growth of interest for entertainment," said Naoki Katashima, President and COO of Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe.
"We hope that our products and services will help increase and enhance social activities in these territories."
Bandai Namco has also recently partnered with developer Drecom to open a new HTML5 mobile game studio called BXD. The studio will leverage Bandai Namco IP for its games.
