Keywords Studios has continued its acquisition strategy by picking up British work-for-hire developer d3t for £3 million ($3.9 million).
The deal comprises of £2.4 million in cash and the issue of 42,368 new ordinary shares in Keywords. D3t founders Jamie Campbell and Stephen Powell will remain at the company along with the rest of the 44-person team.
D3t is a work-for-hire developer specialising in HD remasters, porting, optimisation, and more. It generated £2.8 million in revenues in its last fiscal year.
Complementary acquisitions
"The acquisition of d3t complements our recent acquisition GameSim's capabilities to extend the services, scale and geographical presence of our Engineering offering," said Keyword's COO Giacomo Duranti.

Keywords' current business strategy revolves around acquiring large numbers of smaller teams and studios. In August 2017 it picked up four Paris-based localisation studios in one go for $8.9 million.
