In today's Speaker Spotlight we're talking to Unity founder David Helgason who will take part in a speed panel on 'Super Angels in the Games Sector' with angel investor Paul Heydon.

PocketGamer.biz: Could you please explain a bit about yourself?

David Helgason: I'm a technologist, founder of a wonderful technology company, non-exec director to others, angel, and a restless entrepreneur with a passion for creating feedback loops between innovation and teams and products, applying new and old business models to changing industries, and pushing people to do the very best they can do.

Could you tell us a bit about the company?

Nordic Makers is a seed fund, run by world-class entrepreneurs and founders of several unicorns. We love tech, great products and scaling from small to BIG.

What does your role entail?

I'm an angel investor, board member, advisor, troublemaker and friend.

Why did you want to work in the games industry?

I love the people. Smart, creative, kind. I don't know where else you find that combination.

What advice would you give to anyone looking to get into it?

Hold onto your hat, it's a bumpy ride.

What are your thoughts on the industry in the last 12 months?

The games industry has always been a good place for the extremely smart and creative who are willing to work hard. Sometimes it's good for others too.

What major trends do you predict in the next 12 months?

It seems everything is kind of firing right now.

How has the games industry changed since you first started?

Are you kidding. After being here for over 15 years the only constant is change.

Which part of the Connects event are you most looking forward to and why?

Cocktails.
