Angry Birds' total downloads hits 30 million mark
Best known for its original appearance on iPhone, Angry Birds is a multiplatform superstar these days.

Recent releases on Android and Symbian^3 have added to its roster of supported platforms, with webOS and iPad already on board and PSP to follow.

As such, news that combined downloads of the game's paid and free versions have hit 30 million is impressive, with developer Rovio pronouncing the game as a 'pop culture phenomenon' that has attracted the attention of celebrities and the media.

The App Store, naturally, leads the way on the sales front, with Rovio confirming that Angry Birds and Angry Birds HD – which retail for 99c and $4.99 respectively - have shifted 10 million copies combined since launch.

Adding to the success is standalone themed version Angry Birds Halloween, which has topped sales of 1 million on the App Store in its first six days on sale.
