Updating its hand in the augmented reality market, metaio has announced it is to launch version 3.0 of its mobile SDK on December 8.
The latest version of the tool, which claims to be behind 70 apps across iOS and Android, adds optimised tracking and rendering pipeline for major mobile chipsets, a plugin for Unity3D and a gravity aware AR approach.
Tools for the trade
Also on board is a location-based POI visualisation engine, support for QR codes and - in the case of the professional release - markerless 3D object tracking and an image classifier tool.
"Proven in countless projects, the Mobile SDK includes a powerful rendering engine supporting the animated .md2 and static .obj formats," the firm says of the update.
"In addition to the included renderer, the all-new Mobile SDK now supports Unity3D, the world leading cross platform game engine."
More details on metaio 3.0 can be found on the firm's website.
