Thumbstar shifts up a gear with 20+ mobile games in next few months
Mobile publisher Thumbstar is to embark on a renewed assault on the mobile market, with 20 or more titles due to be launched over the coming months.

The firm, which is based in Liverpool, has told PocketGamer.biz it has a "huge set of announcements" around the corner, with the outfit currently in talks with developers to expand its output on mobile platforms.

Next steps

Coupled with this drive, the firm has signed on with Indigo Pearl PR as – in MD Phil Brannelly's words – the company "enter this exciting new phase in Thumbstar’s growth as a publisher."

"Thumbstar rightly have an aggressive model for growth in terms of content acquisition, game development, and global distribution reach," added Indigo Pearl director James Beaven.

"We look forward to working closely with the team to maximise their media opportunities and presence."

Thumbstar's expansion comes six months after the publisher secured "significant investment" and the services of current CCO Martin Edmondson and CEO Gareth Edmondson, both formally of Reflections, famous for the Driver franchise.

During those six months, Thumbstar has opened a new studio in Newcastle headed up by another former Reflections man, Martin Oliver. February also saw the firm hire a new business developer for the Latin American market in the form of Tom Viswat.

With a fine eye for detail, Keith Andrew is fuelled by strong coffee, Kylie Minogue and the shapely curve of a san serif font.
