A new development studio founded by a management team with experience at the likes of EA, Atari and PopCap is set to become the largest indie outfit in Ireland.
Digit Gaming has received funding from investors based in the country in order to establish a "major independent games studio", with the capital Dublin set to play host.
Digit in Dublin
Founding members include CEO Richard Barnwell - who most recently served as CEO of Jolt Online Gaming - and fellow Jolt men Martin Frain as CMO, art director Fergus Duggan and GM David McGovern.
"We chose Dublin because of the ability to access best in class talent, the great support from Enterprise Ireland and the general buzz around the cities startup scene," said CEO Richard Barnwell, who most recently served as CEO of Jolt Online Gaming.
"We hope to hire locally and to attract some top class people from around the games world."
Indeed, Digit currently has ten different full time positions up for grabs on its website, with speculative applications also welcomed.
Digit is yet to highlight specific platforms it's set to target, but it's suggested the company will address the social, locational and mobile gaming scene in the years ahead.
