Mobile publisher Thumbstar has announced that its first internally-developed title, The Adorables, is to tap into GREE's social games platform but only on Android.
In a release detailing the Liverpool-based outfit's first move on GREE's gaming platform, the company claims it's looking forward to taking advantage of the Japanese social gaming giant's expertise to bolster the Pachinko-style title.
On iOS, however, the game will instead tap into Apple's Game Center.
Two directions
"As our first internally-developed title, and one we're extremely proud of, we want to be sure we are maximising all possible opportunities for success," said CEO Gareth Edmondson.
"Being able to work alongside one of the biggest names in mobile gaming is a fantastic opportunity for us, and GREE's knowledge of how to succeed in this area is unparalleled."
Thumbstar claims The Adorables, which is already available on Windows 8, will tap into GREE's "wealth of social features" - from player invite services to leaderboards and achievements, all to help build a "strong player community" around the game.
It would appear to be an intentionally split player community, however, with those same functions being provided by Game Center on Apple's platform when it launches across iOS and Android on 6 December.
