MAG Interactive hits 100 millon downloads, celebrates by making players in-game millionaires

MAG Interactive, the Swedish developer behind Ruzzle, Wordbrain, and Wordbrain Themes, has announced that it has hit a milestone of 100 millon downloads across all its games.

It is safe to assume that debut game Ruzzle makes up a significant chunk of this given that, on the game's third birthday in early 2015, it had already accrued 50 million downloads.

Who wants to be a millionaire?

CEO Daniel Hasselberg previously attributed MAG Interactive's success to the fact it targets non-gamers, who "are not as fickle" as a more core audience and therefore less likely to churn.

To celebrate the milestone, players in Ruzzle, Wordbrain, and Wordbrain Themes will be able to compete for a prize of 100 miillion hints and coins.

For every day of the next 10, 30 players will be made in-game millionaires.

Ruzzle is MAG's leading title

"We would never have gotten this far without our players, so it’s a no-brainer that we want to celebrate with all of you," said Hasselberg.

"I also want to give my thanks to all the people at MAG. This shows that we truly live up to our vision: Enriching people’s lives by creating long-lasting and high quality gaming experiences."
