Fox Digital and mobile/web game publisher Kongregate have announced a partnership to release a mobile collectible card game featuring five of Fox's animated comedy brands.

The game, entitled Animation Throwdown: The Quest for Cards, will allow fans to play as characters from American Dad!, Bob’s Burgers, Family Guy, Futurama, and King of the Hill.

Clash of worlds

Kongregate, a wholly-owned subsidiary of US retailer GameStop, will be co-developing the game with Chicago-based Synapse Games and Chinzilla Games of San Francisco - both of whom have a proven track record in the card battler genre.

“We are thrilled to bring together these five animated comedies for the first time in Animation Throwdown: The Quest for Cards,” said Kongregate President and co-founder Emily Greer.

“We are looking forward to integrating characters from these hit series in a unique and exciting way that fans of all the shows will really love.”

Taking advantage of its various promotion channels, Kongregate will be promoting the game heavily through its existing mobile game portfolio, on the Kongregate online platform, and in GameStop's 4,200 US retail store locations.

The game is scheduled for release in Q3 2016 on the App Store and Google Play.
