Evening and weekend studio Swiftmill hopes to accelerate App Store success with 12 games in 12 months

It's harder than ever to make a splash on the app stores.

That's something that Johannes Seidel knows only too well.

He came up with the original idea for making paid apps free for a day one Christmas (Appvent Calendar), and since has launched 11 games and apps.

"8 products failed, 2 have been ok and 1 was a moderate success," he reveals.

So his next scheme is smaller and more ambitious at the same time.

Full speed ahead

Setting up a part-time development studio called Swiftmill, he's planing to release 12 games in 12 months.

"In the upcoming months we will release several mini-games in hope that one (or more) will hit some momentum which we can build on," he comments on a blogpost explaining his plan.

"These games will be mini-games which you play in your coffee pause or while waiting for the bus. When one game will be successful then we will follow up with more content updates for that one."

The first release is neat endless flyer Danger Wave, which is out now on the App Store.
