Titanfall: Frontline to be shut down after just four months in soft launch

Particle City's CCG Titanfall: Frontlinewill be shut down after just four months in soft launch.

The developer announced the game's closure via its official Facebook page. It stated that the servers will be closed down on January 20th.

"We've learned an incredible amount in the beta test of Titanfall: Frontline, but in the end felt the experience wasn't ready to deliver the intense action-packed gameplay synonymous with Titanfall," wrote the studio.

"While it's never easy to cancel a game, we're excited to take some of the concepts we saw resonate with players and build off of them in future Titanfall mobile games."

Fell fast

The game was first revealed and soft-launched in September 2016. It was expected for launch in the autumn period of 2016.

Particle City was established in 2015 specifically to create mobile titles based on Titanfall. The studio is part of a collaboration between Titanfall developer Respawn Entertainment and Korean publisher Nexon.
