Social gaming platform Gamee raises $2.15 million

Prague-based social gaming platform Gamee has closed a €2 million ($2.15 million) funding round to continue to develop new games and grow its business.

The investment round was led by Initial Capital and Credo Ventures. Additional funding was provided by Index Ventures, along with some angel investors.

Gamee has already developed and published 60 games since launching in late 2015 across its own platform and HTML5 platforms like Facebook Instant Games. It has seen over 500 million game plays with an average of 30 minutes spent on its titles per user a day.

All games made by the company are free-to-play and supported either by sponsors or ads. It has previously worked with Coca-Cola, Skoda and NASA on sponsored titles to drive their brands.

"Gamee has a unique chance to be among the social media giants through its amazing power with bots, where we see a huge amount of engagement," said Bozena Rezab, CEO and Founder of Gamee.

The studio was a launch partner for Facebook's Instant Games platform back in November 2016. It joined big name studios such as King, Spil Games and Zynga with its title Brick Pop.
