Zed sells mobile gambling business to Netplay TV

Also signs two-year sales agreement

Zed sells mobile gambling business to Netplay TV
Having announced its decision to move away from its traditional subscription model last year, Zed has now sold off its mobile gambling subsidiary Info-download.

It's been bought by UK interactive gaming firm Netplay TV, and the deal also includes the acquisition of Zed's Grab a Grand mobile quiz business.

Netplay TV is paying £1 million in stock for Info-download and the quiz. Meanwhile, the two companies have also signed a two-year sales agreement for Zed to sell Netplay TV's gambling games to its operator customers.

Zed will also develop mobile games for Netplay TV based on the latter's properties, which Netplay TV says will speed its expansion into the mobile gambling market.

"The mobile platform is an important part of our converged plan, and as such adding their mobile gambling business to ours strengthens this position further," says Netplay's executive chairman and CEO Martin Higginson.

"Having access to the Zed mobile developers will enable us to develop integrated mobile applications much quicker and therefore give the consumer greater choice of which device he or she accesses our gaming services from."
