Former Linden Labs executive Judy Wade has joined publisher Hands-On Mobile as CEO, with special attention to be focused on growing the firm's social business.
Hands-On's target is to become a greater force in both the mobile and social games arenas, with the company launching a new social games subsidiary called FunClick.
Fun for all
The new division has already released WPT Texas Hold 'Em Poker on Facebook, with Wade set to oversee further launches under the FunClick label.
"Judy blends strategic business acumen with in-depth knowledge of the social and mobile gaming market, a combination we believe will help her drive Hands-On forward," says Hands-On board member John Fishe
"She has a strong vision for the future and the experience to back it."
FunClick's aim is to create both original and branded games that are free and easy to learn an area the company believes Wade has particular experience in.
The wonder of Wade
Indeed, Wade herself believes working on with at Second Life developer Linden Labs will perfectly position her to aid Hands-On Mobile's expansion.
"Hands-On Mobile, with its blue chip entertainment brands and track record for developing and publishing creative and innovative mobile games, has a tremendous opportunity to take both mobile and social gaming to the next level," adds Wade.
"From the user's perspective, as the distinction between social and mobile is blurring, our focus moving forward will be on creating engaging games and delivering enhanced community experiences regardless of the platform."
