Rovio signs up for Unite Nordic 2013 in Malmo

Heading for Sweden this May

Rovio signs up for Unite Nordic 2013 in Malmo
Organisers behind the inaugural Unite Nordic conference bound for Malmö this May have lifted their lid on a batch of speakers signed up to the event, with Rovio leading the line.

Both Jaakko Haapasalo and Mauricio Hollando from the Angry Birds studio will head to the Swedish city to talk Bad Piggies.

Their presentation will focus on how plugging into Unity enabled rapid iteration, delivering "emergent gameplay where freedom and constraint are balanced."

Also of interest for mobile attendees will be a 2D panel discussion, with Mojang's Måns Olson and Simogo's Magnus 'Gordon' Gardebäck debating their respective approaches to designing 2D games within Unity.

Unite Nordic is set to run in Malmö from 21-22 May, with the event immediately followed by this year's Nordic Game Conference, running in the same Slagthuset venue between 22-24 May.

"The Nordic games development scene has grown over the last few years to become one of the strongest and most creative communities in the world," Unity said in a statement back in January.

"Both Unite Nordic and NGC offer learning and networking opportunities very valuable to the indie-heavy development scene in the area. Having both shows in the same location presents incredible opportunity for cross pollination of ideas, topics, and attendees at the two conferences."

You can find more details on Unite Nordic on the event's website.

Details on the Nordic Game Conference can be found here. Special discounted bundled prices are available for those who wish to attend both events.
