Do it yourself development: Kickstarter for Tiny Kingdoms aims to turn players into designers
Those who back games on Kickstarter often joke that they should be able to add "Game Designer" to their résumés, but that quip might soon become a reality.

Big Viking Games has launched a unique Kickstarter for its upcoming free-to-play RPG Tiny Kingdoms.

While it offers the traditional Kickstarter backer rewards, the Tiny Kingdoms Kickstarter stands out for giving players direct feedback to the game's creative process.

Giz a job

Big Viking Games promises that those who help fund Tiny Kingdoms will be handed the "opportunity to join our team as an honorary game designer".

The overall goal for the game - which is looking for Canadian $50,000 in funding - is to "tighten the loop between developers and players", and Albert Lai, the CEO of Big Viking Games, is clear that he wants players to contribute to the creative direction of Tiny Kingdoms.

"We are giving fans the opportunity to leave their mark on the game and build the game they want to play," details the studio.

This 'mark' will take the form of voting in polls to determine the nature of in-game assets among other duties, as well as players will having direct access to developer diaries.
