German developer Innogames is still something of a European secret.
Partly that's because, historically its games have been successful PC browser games; a sector that tends not to get much media attention.
More recenty, however, the Hamburg-based company has been bringing its games to mobile, expanding both its profile and its user base.
The result has been an acceleration of its business; something reflected in the announcement that its game Forge of Empires has now generated over $110 million (€100 million) in lifetime revenue.
Do it again
Developed in 2011/2012 for around €1 million, that's an impressive return on the initial investment, although, of course, total development costs for Forge of Empires are larger and ongoing.
Demonstrating that it can repeat this success, Innogames says that its 2009-published title Grepolis is on course to break the same revenue barrier in the fall.
Meanwhile 2003-era title Tribal Wars has generated $90 million (€80 million), and continues to increase its year-on-year sales.
