Scopely has launched its WWE-licensed match-3 RPG WWE Championsafter over 13 months in soft launch.
The game was first released on December 7th 2015 and was available in Australia, Ireland, Netherlands, New Zealand, Romania, Sweden on Android and iOS.
It sees players matching coloured gems to attack opponents using moves specific to their wrestler. Players will also accrue a roster of real-life WWE Superstars to battle with in the game.
Keeping kayfabe
Scopely will make full use of the WWE license to keep Champions updated, with real-world events and up-and-coming wrestlers added into the game over time along with the roster of current and former wrestlers.
The developer believes WWE Champions will be its next #1 hit following on from The Walking Dead: Road to Survival. That game achieved 25 million downloads and a $5 ARPDAU by September 2016.
Scopely still has another game in soft launch, Breaking Bad: Empire Business, which has been in soft launch around a month longer than WWE Champions.
