Games communication app Discord adds Spotify integration as it surpasses 90 million users

Discord is collaborating with music streaming service Spotify to integrate functionality into its games messaging app.

This partnership sees Discord users connecting their account with their Spotify and being able to share what they are listening to on their profile.

Spotify Premium members will be able to listen to songs or playlists together in a server.

Music to our ears

The company also now boasts 90 million users, a three million person increase since the 87m announced at the end of 2017.

“Spending time with friends around gaming has been the foundation on which Discord is built. Finding more ways for people to create those shared experiences is what makes this Spotify feature exciting for us,” said Discord chief Jason Citron.
