Cost-per-action model working gangbusters

SponsorPay sees 2011 revenue up 125% thanks in part to new mobile monetisation platform
Cross-platform game advertising and monetising outfit SponsorPay is bigging up its 2011 performance.

Not giving away absolute figures, nevertheless, it says revenue grew 125 percent during the 12 month period.

The Berlin-headquartered outfit now has seven locations including new openings in New York, Tokyo and Istanbul, with a headcount over 110, and it's still hiring.

"We are extremely pleased with what we accomplished in 2011 and are continuing our 100 percent growth trajectory into the new year," said Andreas Bodczek, CEO and co-founder.

"Our ambition is to become the largest platform for brand and performance advertising in games, globally."

Fuelling that growth are its BrandEngage social engagement and video product and its new cost-per-action mobile platform, which covers everything from watching videos to completing surveys and downloading apps mainly on Android, but with some elements on iOS and Windows Phone.

Indeed, SponsorPay points out that the mobile part of the business "gained tremendous traction and contributed significantly to the company's growth," according to chief revenue officer Janis Zech.

Working across web, social networks such as Facebook, Mynet and Joygame, plus mobile apps and web, the company has raised over $10 million and is backed by investors such as Nokia Growth Partners and Team Europe Ventures.
