Mobile monetisation outfit SponsorPay has launched its new weapon for user acquisition.
Called AppTrailer, it uses the much higher engagement rates generated by mobile video ads to encourage users to download apps and games.
Supporting iOS, Android and Facebook, early users of the system say it's generating install rates of between two to six percent, making it more cost effective than other channels.

"It provides users with the right amount of information they need to make a download decision followed by easy access to the game or application.
"We've been using AppTrailer to promote our GameFinder app in several countries. We are very satisfied with the results and have been positively surprised by the high user quality," echoed Jan Beckers, CEO of games distribution company Hitfox.
Access to AppTrailer is access via a self-serve platform, which developers linking to YouTube videos. There's also a turnkey solution for use with agencies.
