Niantic’s Pokemon Go catches $84.8m in revenue for September

Niantic’s location-based augmented reality game Pokemon Go racked up revenues of $84.8 million for September.

According to Sensor Tower, the haul put Pokemon Go fourth among all apps regarding revenue for the month.

September’s performance also marked Pokemon Go's best month since November of last year. It also marked a 15 per cent month-on-month increase from August and an 89 per cent year-on-year improvement on September 2017.

Calling all trainers

Regarding downloads, September saw over 8.86 million downloads come in. The total was Pokémon Go’s most active month for installs in 2018 so far and it represents a 100 per cent increase year-on-year compared to September 2017.

Moreover, thanks to September’s performance, Pokemon Go was able to finish out Q3 with its highest earnings since Q3 2016.

All in all, the title has reached an estimated gross revenue of $2.01 billion worldwide and has seen 522 million all-time downloads since launching in 2016.
