Tokyo-based mobile social studio Gumi has announced it has opened its second international office, Gumi Asia, in Singapore.
Former senior director of EA Asia David Ng will be at the helm of bringing his extensive experience in development, publishing, and digital media distribution to the role.
"At Gumi Asia, we are putting together a team of talented developers who will work closely with Gumi in Japan and Gumi Korea to rapidly release several dynamic new smartphone games for the international market," said Ng.
"Our mission is to become the top mobile game provider in the world."
Taking over the world
Gumi recently expanded its operations to South Korea with the opening of Gumi Korea.
"The opening of offices in Korea and Singapore follows through on the development plans I announced late last year," said Gumi CEO Hironao Kunimitsu.
"We will work closely with Gumi Asia to develop cutting edge mobile social games and take the lead in the expanding international smartphone game market."
With both Korea and Singapore ticked off its list, Gumi's next step should see the social developer setting up shop in the US.
