Ex-Boomlagoon co-founder Tuomas Erikoinen's latest indie game has surpassed 500,000 downloads in just a week since first releasing.
Breakout Ninja was released on January 4th 2017 under Erikoinen's developer moniker Part Time Monkey, who made the game entirely by himself in around two weeks.
It has peaked at eighth on the App Store free download charts in the US so far. Its highest position is third on the New Zealand charts.
Fun for everyone
"When I started Part Time Monkey, I set out to make fun and easy-to-play games, that anyone could enjoy - and more importantly I would enjoy creating," said Erikoinen.
"Now I make games that take a maximum of one to two months for me to finish, for anything above I lose patience. Small games seem to be popular still it seems."
Erikoinen was formerly Lead Artist on Angry Birds while working at Rovio. He left the company to found Boomlagoon in April 2012, which he then left to found Part Time Monkey in September 2015.
