Prepare for wave of Fortnite toys as Epic signs deals with Funko and Jazwares

Epic Games has signed deals with Jazwares and Funko to develop and release a range of Fortnite toys.

The battle royale hit has become a cultural phenomenon around the world and was recently said to have crossed the $1 billion mark.

Now much like anything in any way related to pop culture, Funko is creating a whole array of Fortnite collectibles across over 10 product lines, from Pop and 5 Star figures to Pint Size Heroes, Vynl, Keychains, Pop apparel and more.

Funko’s Fortnite lineup will be launched in holiday 2018.

“This collection will be a true celebration of Fortnite’s incredible popularity and cultural significance, and we believe our Funko Fortnite collectibles will strongly resonate with fans of the game,” said Funko CEO Brian Mariotti.

“We look forward to expanding this collection and combining our leading product capabilities with our strong retail platform. Ultimately our goal is to create a powerful merchandise strategy for the Fortnite brand, as well as bring these amazing collectibles to fans around the world.”

But wait, there's more

Epic’s deal with Jazwares meanwhile will see the company create true to game figures, Domez, loot boxes, playsets, environments, game-replica weapons and tools, plush, vehicles and more.

The lineup of branded toys will be released globally in December 2018.

The deals are evidence that Epic is keen to quickly capitalise on the runaway success of Fortnite and extend the IP across various mediums.
