PGC Stories: "I got to make friends with great people from MENA and it was an eye opener for me!"

Pocket Gamer Connects is all about bringing the industry together to learn, network and build great new business partnerships.

This year, we’re celebrating 10 years since the conference began, and we'll be bringing those celebrations to our next show: The Dubai Game Expo Summit powered by Pocket Gamer Connects which takes place on May 1st and 2nd 2024.

On the fence about heading to the event? As part of our look back at the last 10 years, we’ve been asking attendees for their stories from the show floor and how the conference series has helped build their business and career.

Below we've got more comments from our past attendees and you can share your own memories too by filling out this form - and you’ll be in with a chance to win two free PGC tickets in 2024!

Kamal Aittah, Founder of Game Hermits (pictured) says:

"I remember at PGC Jordan 2022 I got to meet a lot of the MENA developers that I knew online for the first time. It was fun time having a laugh at the fact we couldn't get together unless it's a coincidence."

"I also got to make friends with great people from MENA and it was an eye opener for me on the professional industry in MENA."

"As for PGC Leaders Summit 2022, I got to meet a lot of the CEOs in the region and I made friends with great fellow executives in the industry in Europe as we got together and enjoyed a nice walk in Riyadh. Oh, also watching the World Cup that was exciting as well. You guys are awesome."

Martine Spaans of the Dutch Games Association says:

"I remember PGC Helsinki 2019, where I took part in the 20x20 sessions, but it was very hard to top the session before mine, presented by a puppet (Idle Farmer from Futureplay) who made a surprise appearance right before I was on…"

"Please continue organising these great events. Always the right mix of people, topics, fringe-events, parties, etc. Always events I look forward to!"

Katerina Burbela of Remote Control Productions says:

"At Pocket Gamer Connects I met so many great people. Enjoyed so many panel discussions and I participated both as moderator and panelist. Just keep rocking!"

And it's not just industry pro's who are welcome at Pocket Gamer Connects…

Gamer Antonio Smith got in touch to say:

"My overall feeling was very inclusive and with the diverse crowd I felt very represented through the day. I am so happy stepped out of my comfort zone and went for it."
