At Pocket Gamer Connects Helsinki 2016, Walid El Cheikh, Program Manager at Aalto University Executive Education, gave a talk on the importance of leadership when building a games company.
He started by identifying the three things that make Finland strive – Sisu, "being better than Swedes", and education.
Strong leaders, strong games
"I personally believe that strong leaders build better games," said El Cheikh, advertising the Game Executive Program the university teaches to improve leadership skills and business know-how.
"The games that succeed always have a good strategy," he continued, saying that games need a good business strategy, and that leaders need the ability to let creative people be creative.
